The LLM can drive multiple lights of virtually any type or up to four individual zones or channels within an integrated photometric or multispectral ring light solution. Each program can contain up to six sequences with up to four lights set to continuous on, off, any intensity level in between, and even OverDrive strobe mode.

To program the four zones of a single LED illumination system such as a ring light or four separate LED light sources, simply connect the LLM to a computer via Ethernet cable and use the browser-based interface to program the light through a series of drop-down menus. The intuitive user interface makes it possible for technicians of any level to set image sequences and program intensities for each light.

The LLM system and light kit bundles initially will target 3D photometric stereo and 2D multi-light applications. When used in conjunction with specialized photometric stereo software from Matrox Imaging, Cognex, TeleDyne DALSA, SICK or MVTec, the lighting system can solve previously intractable tasks, such as finding a defect in the surface of a part. By capturing successive images of a stationary object as it is illuminated by a sequence of lights, photometric image processing software can determine the 3D surface orientation of every pixel across the object’s surface. The same technique can generate 2D images of multiple regions of interest using separate lights and/or cameras.

LLM is also appropriate for multispectral imaging solutions where the LED wavelengths – and not broad-spectrum white lights with optical filters in front of the sensor – are the spectral band selection mechanisms. Using the color of illuminating light as the spectral band selection mechanism can greatly reduce the cost of multispectral imaging solutions while increasing budgets for imaging applications.

The 4ZMD is an external driver with four individual built-in channels, allowing control of up to four zones within a single light or four individual lights with no built-in drivers. Users can set different intensity levels for each zone channel because they act independently of each other. Also, depending on the channel’s configuration, intensity controls can adjust the intensity for either continuous operation or OverDrive strobe mode.

When connected to the LED Light Manager (LLM), each individual channel can be set to continuous operation, off, any intensity level in between, and even OverDrive strobe mode.

The 4WMD is a four-channel external driver developed for multi-wavelength lights. The 4WMD permits up to four individual wavelengths to be controlled independently of each other. This external driver includes Multi-Drive, which allows a single channel to drive LEDs in continuous operation or OverDrive strobe mode separate from the other channels. For quick and easy adjustments, each output channel has its own tuning control located on the front of the driver. Wavelength tuning can be controlled for continuous operation using the analog input channels as well.

The 4WMD can be used with any combination of up to four LED wavelengths, including white, red, blue, green, UV, IR, and SWIR. Additional wavelength options are available.

The ODSB75 Brick Light features a smart driver with OverDrive strobe mode. The light’s diffused lens makes it a viable option for silhouetting objects. The manual potentiometer control allows the intensity to be adjusted from 10%-100%. A user can also adjust the intensity using the 1-10VDC remote analog signal. The ODSB75 has the ability to produce up to 5000 strobes per second at a maximum strobe length of 125 mS when at a 10% maximum duty cycle. Heat is dissipated through the aluminum backplate, allowing the ODSB75 to be run at a high current and great intensity.

The SC75 is the basic spot light version of the S75 Brick Light. It features a built-in smart driver. NPN or PNP trigger signal inputs can be used to control the on/off input of the light. A 75 mm active light area provides an intense and diffuse light pattern at any given working distance.

The SB75 Brick Light features a built-in smart driver and a diffused lens, making it a viable option for silhouetting objects. The manual potentiometer control allows the intensity to be adjusted from 10%-100%. A user can also adjust the intensity with the 1-10VDC analog signal line. Heat is dissipated through the aluminum back plate, allowing the SB75 to be run at a higher current and a greater intensity.

The S75 Brick Light Series is a spot light that features a built-in smart driver. NPN or PNP trigger signal inputs can be used to control the on/off input of the light. The intensity of the light can be controlled via 1-10VDC analog signal line or by adjusting the built-in manual potentiometer. Heat is dissipated through the aluminum back plate, which allows the S75 Brick Light Series to be run at a higher intensity current.

The S75G2 spot light features an integrated Multi-Drive driver that can produce up to 300,000 lux. NPN or PNP triggers can be used to control the light for either OverDrive or continuous operation. Control light intensity via 1 – 10 VDC analog intensity line or remotely using SmartVisionLink .

The SXP80 Series is among the highest intensity LED based projectors available in the market. With the ability to produce a thin and well-defined light pattern, the SXP80 performs with intensities comparable to that of laser projectors but without the speckle and can be used both far-field and near-field applications. The projector features Multi-Drive along with Smart Vision Lights newest high-speed, high-output driver technology and forced-air cooling. This combination provides very fast high energy strobe capabilities as well as the highest intensity continuous operation available. Multiple interchangeable pattern styles are available, along with optional custom patterns.

The ODSXP30 Series Projector Light offers a homogeneous light pattern. This light is designed for Overdrive strobe mode only and offers NPN or PNP trigger signal input. The 9 mm2 die emits five times the intensity of a constant current SXP30. The housing is constructed of finned 6061-T6 aluminum and designed to dissipate as much heat as possible, therefore allowing the LED to be run at a much higher current than the standard 1 mm2 die LEDs. Multiple interchangeable pattern styles are available along with optional custom patterns.

The SXP30 Series Projector Light offers a homogeneous light pattern. The 9 mm2 die emits nine times the intensity of a standard high-output LED. The housing is constructed of finned 6061-T6 aluminum and designed to dissipate as much heat as possible, therefore allowing the LED to be run at a much higher current than the standard 1 mm2 die LEDs. Multiple interchangeable pattern styles are available along with optional custom patterns. The SXP30 Series is able to project a thinner and more defined pattern of light compared to laser projectors, making the SXP30 a more accurate light.

The ODSX30 (N4) Series of Prox Lights feature a single high current LED enclosed in a 30 mm Barrel Style Housing. This light is designed for Overdrive strobe mode only. The ODSX30 (N4) Series feature an NPN and PNP strobe signal with a 1-10VDC analog intensity control signal for added versatility. The ODSX30 (N4) Series has multiple mounting options allowing for ease of install and comes with two mounting nuts. The narrow, 4-degree lens allows for a long, tightly focused beam of light.

he LZE300, a SmartVisionLink enabled linear light, has similar features and functions as the LXE300, with the addition of communication with a SmartVisionLink managing device, such as the BTM-1000. When the LZE300 is connected to the BTM-1000, its intensity can be fully controlled, either for the entire light or for each of the three LED zones. Individual zones may also be turned off. The standard LZE300 has a 12 LED configuration.

The LZE300 is available in three different connector options:

  • Direct Connect – This is the default option which allows connecting lights together with no additional cables. Lights are directly connected together, with no space between the lights. Up to six LZE300 lights can be directly connected together.
  • Daisy-Chain – The Daisy-Chain option allows for a locking 5PM-12 Jumper Cable to be used when connecting LZE300 lights together. Lights are able to be spaced apart from each other. Up to six LZE300 lights can be Daisy-Chained together.
  • Plug – If multiple units are not going to be used, a plug termination can be ordered.

The LZE300 also comes with NanoDrive technology, which enables a faster “on” and “off” compared to other technology.

The LCZE300 is a SmartVisionLink™-enabled linear light. With the addition of the BTM-1000 Bluetooth module, the LCZE300 can be wirelessly adjusted for intensity levels. The LCZE300 can be connected in a series of up to six lights, either through direct-connect or daisy-chain, to create a total of 6 independently controllable lighting zones.
